About the School: Are you a resilient, compassionate and dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? We are working with a welcoming and supportive SEMH provision in Stockport that is committed to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for students who may have faced barriers to education. The school focuses on building positive relationships, developing emotional regulation, and supporting both academic and personal growth. The setting is well-resourced, highly supportive, and places a strong emphasis on consistency, wellbeing, and engagement. Staff work closely as a team to help students rebuild confidence in learning and achieve positive outcomes.
As a General SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects to small class groups
- Support students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage behaviour and emotions positively
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to behaviour management
- Track progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
What We are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
To be eligible you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service OR be willing to apply for a new one
- Provide two professional child-related references
