We are seeking a patient, supportive tutor to work with a Year 11 student who needs support with Functional Skills Maths and English, leading up to his transition to college. The student is very bright and capable, but has experienced significant challenges with mental health recently, which has led to a pause in academic progress. As a result, sessions will need to be calm, structured, and paced sensitively, with an emphasis on confidence-building and re-engagement with learning.

The student has been referred to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) due to concerns around obsessive compulsive disorder-type behaviours, particularly linked to germs, health, and cleanliness. Experience supporting young people with anxiety or OCD-related needs would be highly beneficial.

  • Subjects: Functional Skills Maths and English
  • Level: Year 11 (non-GCSE pathway)
  • Focus: Preparation for college, rebuilding skills and confidence
  • Approach: Gentle, flexible, and learner-led

Pay: Β£25–30 an hour

  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
