About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate and experienced teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our team in St Helens. As a QTS tutor, you will deliver personalised, one-to-one lessons to students across various subjects, including Maths, English, and Science. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of students and helping them achieve their academic goals in a supportive and motivating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one lessons in core subjects such as Maths, English, and Science, tailored to each student's specific learning needs.
  • Adapt lesson content, teaching methods, and pace to ensure accessibility for students with diverse learning abilities.
  • Foster a positive, engaging learning environment that builds student confidence and promotes academic growth.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, or other professionals involved in the student's education.
  • Develop personalised learning plans that align with each student's goals and provide ongoing support to help them reach their potential.
  • Work closely with families to ensure communication is clear and constructive, addressing any concerns or adjustments needed.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring in a one-to-one or small group setting.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible tutoring schedule.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or tutoring students at GCSE or Key Stage 3 level.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and their families.
