Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced GCSE Maths & English Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to students in St Helens starting January 2026. This role is ideal for tutors who can adapt lessons to individual learning needs and help students build confidence and achieve academic success.

About the Students
You will support learners preparing for GCSE Maths and English, including those who:
- Require additional support due to SEN or learning gaps
- Are working below expected levels
- Need confidence and guidance to achieve academic targets
Lessons will be personalised to suit individual learning styles, build subject knowledge, and improve exam readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 GCSE Maths and English lessons
- Adapt lesson content and pace to meet individual student needs
- Support study skills, exam preparation, and confidence-building
- Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers and professionals
- Build positive, trusting relationships and create a safe, supportive learning environment
- Plan structured sessions that encourage engagement and progression
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English
- Experience working with learners with SEN or learning gaps (desirable)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List (or willingness to apply)
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience supporting students with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
- Experience delivering GCSE-focused tuition
