Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified, HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist to support a Local Authority in Havering with statutory EHCP assessments and targeted communication input for children and young people with SEN, including those with complex needs, ASD, language disorders, and developmental delays. This is an on-site, ad-hoc/temporary role.

Key Responsibilities

  • SALT assessments for children undergoing EHC needs assessments
  • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for EHCPs
  • Work collaboratively with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to annual reviews and ongoing EHCP processes
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes in line with safeguarding and data standards

Requirements

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (BSc/MSc)
  • HCPC registration (essential)
  • Experience working with SEN and complex needs
  • Strong assessment and report-writing skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Professional indemnity and public liability insurance

Desirable

  • Membership of RCSLT
  • Experience in early years, mainstream or specialist settings
  • Knowledge of AAC, autism, language disorders, or communication difficulties
  • Experience delivering training to staff or families
