We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language therapist to join a resident therapy team at a school in Croydon starting September 2025.

The School-Aged Speech and Language Therapy Service is part of the schools group SEND offer, working collaboratively within their own Therapy Team central services. The aim is to deliver the right support at the right time, through assessment and intervention, equipping families and staff with the skills and resources to work together to help and support children with SLCN.

Follow the set models to offer universal, targeted and specialist support for children, families, and the school workforce, and work with children and young people with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plan).

About the role: The role will be offered at full time, equating to 38.5 hours per week, across 38 weeks of the year. The salary is full-time and not pro rata. We will consider part-time applicants. All applicants must have HCPC registration. The role is term time, plus additional days should the role require attending meetings during school holiday time.

Your role will be to play a pivotal part in supporting children to achieve the outcomes agreed in conjunction with the school and family through a range of activities:

  • Working individually with a child/young person within the school
  • Modelling strategies to class teachers/teaching assistants
  • Working with a small group
  • Creating resources for the therapy team

To be shortlisted for an interview for this position, your application will clearly evidence:

  • Experience of working with children and young people either within mainstream or specialist schools and centres
  • Experience of working on communication and interaction targets
  • Ability to adapt your approach and communication style to help children communicate

All therapy staff are provided with a laptop.
