About the Role
We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and help them thrive both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
· Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
· Support pupils social, emotional and behavioural development
· Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
· Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
· Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, parents and external professionals
· Promote independence and confidence in all pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or similar setting)
· A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
· Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 xiskglj or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – desirable)
