Contract Type: Full-time - Daily rate: GBP140 - GBP210

The Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating tailored learning experiences for students with Severe Learning Difficulties. This class will only have 12 students in.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality teaching to students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure effective learning.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and other colleagues to support the inclusion of SEN students in mainstream education.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to discuss student progress and provide support strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's SEN policy and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong understanding of a wide range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload of students.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in SEN, such as a SENCo qualification or Autism Education.
  • Experience of working in an SEN setting or school with a diverse range of special needs.
  • Knowledge of specific teaching strategies or interventions for SEN students.
