Job description
Prospero Teaching is currently working with a SEMH School in Preston that is looking for an English Teacher.
This school caters for secondary aged pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities for pupils including academic, functional and vocational skills.
You will be teaching small classes of students with additional needs. Most are disengaged from education, and part of your role will be to re-engage them.
This position is ideal for a new teacher looking for experience within SEN, or an experienced teacher who is looking to reduce their workload and enjoy less planning!
You must be a qualified teacher for this position, and this school is willing to support you through your ECT if needed.
Roles and responsibilities:
Manage challenging behaviour positively and in line with the schools’ ethos and procedures.
Ensure lessons are planned to meet the needs of children.
Ability to tailor your lessons to the needs of each student
Motivate, engage and inspire children
A dedication to the safeguarding of young people.
