Job description

Prospero Teaching is currently looking to appoint several SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools and nurseries across Portsmouth and nearby areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with special educational needs while working in a variety of engaging and supportive settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalised support to children with special educational needs to help them thrive

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of creative, inclusive activities

  • Promoting the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all pupils

  • Supporting children with daily routines and encouraging independence

  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families through clear communication

  • Contract Details:

  • Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract Type: Full-time

  • Pay Rate: From £ per hour

  • Working Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

  • Requirements:

    To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK

  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)

  • Provide two professional references covering the past 24 months, ideally related to working with children

  • Hold a Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent in childcare or a related field
