Position Details: The school are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide focused support to pupils with additional needs. This may include supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning delays, or social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help deliver personalised support and create a positive, structured learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assisting with individual learning plans and targeted interventions.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour needs.
  • Helping the class teacher to adapt resources to match children’s individual needs.
  • Promoting a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school or similar setting is desirable.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach when supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
