About the Role
We're looking for a QTS-qualified Science Tutor to support children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help learners who require alternative educational provision, supporting them to build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes in Science. Many students have experienced disruption to their education and benefit from a tailored approach that meets their individual needs. This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers seeking a more flexible role where they can focus on making a direct impact with individual learners.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised Science tuition
- Adapt learning to suit individual needs and learning styles
- Support students in building confidence and academic progress
- Foster positive relationships and encourage engagement
- Monitor progress and provide session feedback where required
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including teaching, or tutoring
- Strong Science subject knowledge up to GCSE
- Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
