Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a warm, inclusive specialist SEND school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated MFL Teacher (Spanish) to join their team on a maternity-cover basis. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils with ASC and associated needs, ensuring every learner receives personalised support and a curriculum that enables them to thrive.
About the Role
- Delivering MFL Teaching: Teach engaging, meaningful language lessons, with the ability to deliver Spanish to KS4 essential.
- Differentiated Planning: Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet a wide range of SEND needs.
- Supporting ASC Learners: Adapt approaches to support pupils with ASC, SEMH and ADHD.
- Positive Behaviour & Engagement: Contribute to a structured, supportive environment that promotes confidence and progress.
- Collaborative Practice: Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistent, holistic support.
- Building Relationships: Establish strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their learning journey.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related subject.
- Experience teaching MFL across Key Stages (SEND experience desirable).
- Ability to teach Spanish to KS4.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate effectively and support a range of learning needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A reflective, proactive and nurturing approach.
