Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a warm, inclusive specialist SEND school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated Maths Teacher or Maths Subject Lead to join their team from September 2026. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils with ASC and associated needs, ensuring every learner receives personalised support and a curriculum that enables them to thrive.
About the Role
Whether joining as a Maths Teacher or stepping up as a Maths Subject Lead, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and strong mathematical understanding across KS2-KS4.
As a Maths Teacher, you will:
- Deliver Engaging Maths Lessons - Plan and deliver adapted, engaging Maths lessons
- Support Diverse Learners - Teach pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs
- Build Confidence & Curiosity - Foster positive attitudes towards Maths
- Contribute to School Life - Support the wider department and whole‑school community
As a Maths Subject Lead, you will also:
- Lead Curriculum Development - Shape and develop the Maths curriculum in line with school priorities
- Support & Mentor Staff - Guide colleagues and promote excellent practice
- Monitor Teaching & Learning - Oversee standards, progress and assessment
- Promote Innovation - Champion creative approaches and a love of learning
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Maths or a related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong teaching practice; leadership experience desirable for Subject Lead applicants
- Experience in mainstream and/or SEND settings (desirable)
- Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management skills
- Adaptable, resilient and committed to making a positive difference
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and equality
