We're looking for a History & Humanities Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them engage with subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and wider Humanities topics. Many students have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a tutor who can bring learning to life while building confidence and encouraging curiosity.

This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who enjoy helping students develop critical thinking skills, broaden their understanding of the world, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
  • Strong knowledge of History and/or Humanities subjects
  • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Southampton and surrounding Hampshire areas
