Prospero Teaching is working closely with a specialist SEN secondary school to recruit a passionate and committed SEN Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is motivated to support pupils with complex needs in a structured, supportive environment.
The Role
- Teaching and supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and additional needs
- Planning, delivering, and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to EHCP targets
- Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Managing behaviour using trauma-informed and positive behaviour strategies
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching students with SEN (mainstream or specialist setting)
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- A genuine passion for SEN education and inclusive practice
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the child workforce
