Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive emotionally and academically? Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEMH Support Workers to join schools across Dorset, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to help students overcome barriers, build resilience, and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Help students manage emotions, behaviour, anxiety, and confidence
  • Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment
  • Support individual behaviour and wellbeing plans
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and teachers
  • Encourage positive routines, engagement, and resilience

About You

  • Experienced in SEMH, youth work, mental health support, or behaviour support
  • Calm, patient, and skilled in de-escalation
  • A strong communicator and relationship builder
  • Resilient, proactive, and genuinely passionate about helping young people
  • Holds a DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
