Prospero Teaching is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bridgwater area to recruit an inspiring and ambitious Head of Art Design. This is an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for an experienced teacher or aspiring middle leader ready to take the next step in their career and lead a diverse and creative faculty.
The Role
As Head of Art Design, you will lead and develop a dynamic department across:
- Art
- Photography
- Design Technology
- Food Technology
You will play a key role in shaping a broad, engaging curriculum that nurtures creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for design, while driving high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Art, DT, Photography or Food Technology
- Proven success delivering high-quality teaching at KS3 and KS4
- Previous leadership experience, or clear leadership potential
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
- A commitment to raising standards and curriculum development
- A genuine belief that every student can succeed
