Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Maths and English tutors with QTS to provide up to 10 hours of 1:1 tuition per week to children and young people currently without school placements in Solihull. Learners require bespoke academic and emotional support due to time out of education and complex needs, including SEMH and challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in helping them re‑engage with structured learning in a safe and consistent environment. Tuition takes place in homes (with a responsible adult present), libraries, or other approved settings. Full support, resources, and progress monitoring are provided by our Learning Delivery Team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate tutor confident in delivering tailored Maths and English lessons that make a real impact.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS (essential)
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience working with SEN/SEMH learners
  • Proven experience working 1:1 with students who display challenging behaviour
  • Experience in de‑escalation techniques and behaviour support planning
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (issued in the last year – desirable)

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one)
  • Be able to provide two professional child‑related references from the last two years
