Job description

Are you passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for children and young people with sensory and additional needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for creative, compassionate tutors to deliver 1:1 sensory-based education tailored to each learner’s unique profile.

As a Sensory Curriculum Specialist Tutor, you’ll design and deliver interest-led, holistic sessions that support emotional regulation, communication, and engagement.

As a aTutor you will:

  • Deliver bespoke, sensory-rich learning experiences in homes or community settings.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with learners to foster engagement and progress.
  • Use tools like PECS , Makaton , emotion cards, and visual aids to support communication.
  • Implement trauma-informed strategies and follow individual risk assessments.
  • Track progress and adapt sessions to meet evolving needs.
  • About you:

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience working with children with complex additional needs or in an EYFS setting.
  • Deep understanding of sensory integration , communication supports , and holistic education .
  • Creative, flexible, and committed to making learning accessible and fun.
  • Willingness to register as self-employed.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and emotional resilience.

    Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Experience of working with learners with SEND Experience of working with young people in EYFS settings
  • To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
