Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding where required
  • Support learning activities tailored to individual education plans (EHCPs)
  • Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly PMLD, SLD, or complex autism
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Willingness to support with personal care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
