This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the School:

The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Darlington. The School supports pupils across the 2-19 age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all Primary and Secondary School year groups depending on your preference and specialism. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

About the Role:

The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The School supports pupils with a range of SEN such as varying levels of ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH. Additionally, some pupils may be non‑verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts is key. A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.

  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
