SEND Inclusion Lead - East London Location: East London Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, 1-year contract Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, term time only Salary: 30-40k per annum About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Inclusion Lead to join a supportive and inclusive school in East London, starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious SEND professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that pupils receive high-quality, individualised support and that SEND provision is embedded effectively across the school. Working closely with the SENCO, senior leadership team, teachers, teaching assistants, families and external professionals, you will help develop a strong culture of inclusion and ensure that pupils with SEND are given every opportunity to succeed. Key Responsibilities As SEND Inclusion Lead, your responsibilities will include: Leading and coordinating high-quality SEND provision across the school. Supporting the identification of pupils with additional needs and ensuring appropriate support is put in place. Working closely with teachers to ensure lessons and learning activities are appropriately differentiated. Monitoring the progress, attainment and development of pupils with SEND. Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and interventions. Supporting the effective implementation of EHCP outcomes and provision. Working alongside the SENCO and senior leaders to develop the school's SEND strategy. Providing advice, guidance and practical strategies to teachers and support staff. Supporting staff in developing inclusive classroom practice. Coordinating appropriate interventions and monitoring their impact. Liaising with parents and carers to ensure effective communication around pupil progress and support. Working collaboratively with external professionals, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and other specialist services. Contributing to annual reviews and other SEND-related meetings. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date SEND records and documentation. Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of SEND provision across the school. Identifying areas for development and contributing to whole-school improvement planning. Promoting positive attitudes towards SEND and ensuring pupils are fully included in school life. Supporting the development of a consistent approach to behaviour, communication and inclusion. Delivering or supporting SEND-focused training and professional development for school staff where appropriate. About You We are looking for an individual who is passionate about SEND, inclusion and improving educational outcomes. You will ideally have: Previous experience in a SEND leadership, inclusion or coordination role. Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND provision within schools. Experience supporting children with a range of additional needs. A good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes. Experience working with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to analyse pupil progress and use information to inform support and interventions. A proactive and solution-focused approach. The confidence to advise and support colleagues across the school. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. High expectations for all pupils, regardless of their additional needs.Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, learning difficulties or complex SEND would be highly desirable.
