Role Overview
Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced and compassionate SEN Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Trafford starting January 2026. About the Students
You will support learners with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:
- Autism
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
- Learning difficulties
Many students may be disengaged from mainstream education or working below age‑related expectations. Sessions will be fully personalised to support engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, or Functional Skills)
- Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and emotional needs
- Build positive, consistent relationships to support engagement and confidence
- Provide structure, routine, and encouragement
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents, carers, and professionals
- Plan and deliver structured, student‑centred sessions
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or targeted interventions
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List (or willingness to apply)
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- QTS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent
- Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
- Outreach or alternative provision experience
