Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced, passionate and patient SEN Tutor. Within this role, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons as a means of alternate education. You will be working with a young person in year 11 who has ASD, ADHD & cognitive issues relating to sensory processing difficulties. This manifests in a way that significantly impacts their concentration, attention and ability to access learning. While this young person is for Mondays-Thursdays for two hours each day, we have other placements available in the local area. The tuition is replacing school for these young people, taking place during school hours. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil by asking you to submit weekly reports. Information about the role: Ongoing placement, or until the young person finds a suitable school placement Hours dependent on the young persons needs GBP25 – GBP30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications The desired candidate will have: Experience working with SEN students on a 1:1 or small group basis QTS is desirable but not essential Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils What we need from you: Hold a right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application Provide references to cover the last two years of employment The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement If you have any questions, or would like some more information, please apply online or contact me on Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
