About the Role

You will provide personalised tuition to students who may face additional challenges, including:

  • SEN (Special Educational Needs)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
  • Trauma
  • Risk of Permanent Exclusion (PEX)

Your sessions will help learners build confidence, engage positively, and achieve academic success.

As a Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Support emotional well-being and encourage positive engagement
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting strategies for complex needs
  • Track progress and share feedback with parents and schools
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About you

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as Tutor, Teacher, Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, ELSA, or 1:1 support
  • Experience working with learners with additional needs
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Essential & Desirable Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
