Are you an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Prospero Teaching We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming SEND school in Oldbury, supporting pupils with complex needs and PMLD.
About the School:
This specialist provision caters for pupils with a wide range of complex learning needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, medical needs, and communication challenges. The school is well-resourced with a strong and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, individualised education.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
· Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with PMLD
· Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and moving & handling
· Support pupils with communication and sensory needs
· Work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to deliver individualised support plans
· Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
· Experience supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs
· You must have a minimum of a level 2 qualification in working with children to be considered for this role
· Comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training provided if needed)
· Calm, patient, and resilient, with a nurturing approach
· Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
· A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
