Location: Cornwall

Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential to go permanent)

Pay: 14.96 per hour PAYE / 16.30 per hour Umbrella

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in the Cornwall area. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs in a warm, inclusive and supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and cognition & learning needs
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in lessons
  • Delivering targeted interventions and supporting differentiated learning activities
  • Creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning space
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, independence and confidence

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, care, support work, youth work, etc.)
  • Patient, resilient, calm and empathetic
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Proactive, adaptable and confident in supporting behaviour
  • Holds an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
