About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an engaging, structured, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
You will plan, deliver, and adapt high-quality lessons tailored to each pupil's abilities, focusing on both academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
- Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the SENCO.
- Use a range of communication and engagement strategies suitable for SEN settings.
- Track and monitor progress, regularly reporting to colleagues and parents/carers.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and life skills.
- Promote independence and confidence in every learner.
