We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Huddersfield from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making science accessible and engaging for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You will play a key role in adapting the science curriculum to meet individual needs and inspire a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and/or KS4
- Adapt curriculum content to meet varying SEN needs and abilities
- Support and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Work collaboratively with TAs, SENCO, and external agencies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Monitor progress and use assessment data to inform teaching
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
- Has experience teaching Science and working with SEN pupils
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Is patient, resilient, and adaptable in their teaching approach
- Has a strong commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
- Experience in a specialist setting is desirable
