We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Huddersfield from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making science accessible and engaging for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You will play a key role in adapting the science curriculum to meet individual needs and inspire a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and/or KS4
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet varying SEN needs and abilities
  • Support and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Work collaboratively with TAs, SENCO, and external agencies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
  • Monitor progress and use assessment data to inform teaching

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Has experience teaching Science and working with SEN pupils
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable in their teaching approach
  • Has a strong commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Experience in a specialist setting is desirable
