Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Settings in Amble on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

  • The role will involve Teaching three KS3 aged pupils who are working at KS1 level.

  • Planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils and allows all pupils to make progress.

  • Teaching 3 Secondary aged pupils within a SEN setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour

  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.

  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner

  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.

  • Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress

  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.

  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

  • The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism.

  • The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils., We also offer a range of free CPD Certified Training to allow you to keep your skills, knowledge and understanding current and up to date.

An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)

  • QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.

  • Strong Behaviour Management skills

  • Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress

  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum

  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport

  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work

  • Experience of Teaching within the UK

  • A genuine passion for Teaching

  • Strong organisation and communication skills
