Job description
Key Responsibilities
Individual Support: Provide targeted assistance to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging, and accessible learning environment.
Interventions: Deliver focused interventions to support literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development.
Behaviour Management: Apply positive behaviour support strategies to promote a calm and productive classroom.
Progress Monitoring: Observe and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with the class teacher and SENCO.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
Safeguarding: Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure pupil well-being.

Position: SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Long-term (ongoing)
Start Date: November 2024
Hours: Full-time, 8:20 AM β 3:45 PM
Rate of Pay: From Β£ per day
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum of 12 weeks supporting children with SEN in a UK school setting.
Training: Up-to-date safeguarding and SEN training desirable (training can be provided).
