Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed SEND Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to pupils in or around South Woodham Ferrers who have additional learning and behavioural needs. In this role, you will create and deliver bespoke lessons aimed at bridging learning gaps, boosting confidence, and helping students reconnect with education. Many of the pupils you support may have been away from mainstream education for some time, so a patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one or small group tuition sessions based on each student's individual needs
- Provide support in core subjects including Maths, English, and Science
- Encourage confidence, independence, and effective study habits
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers where required
Requirements
- QTS, equivalent teaching qualification, or relevant learning support experience
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring students
- Strong understanding of the PMY/SEC curriculum
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
