About the School
We are an energetic and compassionate school in Bury offering a specialist SEMH provision that uses sport and physical activity as powerful tools to re-engage students with education. The school provides a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment where physical education plays a key role in building confidence, self-regulation, and positive relationships.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Use sport and physical activity to promote emotional regulation, teamwork, and positive behaviour.
- Create a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment.
- Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities and emotional needs.
- Assess progress and celebrate individual achievements.
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and pastoral teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable).
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for using PE to support wellbeing and personal development.
Eligibility
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Provide two professional child-related references.
