About the School

We are an energetic and compassionate school in Bury offering a specialist SEMH provision that uses sport and physical activity as powerful tools to re-engage students with education. Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Use sport and physical activity to promote emotional regulation, teamwork, and positive behaviour.
  • Create a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment.
  • Adapt activities to meet a range of abilities and emotional needs.
  • Assess progress and celebrate individual achievements.
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and pastoral teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable).
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • A genuine passion for using PE to support wellbeing and personal development.

Eligibility

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
