Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to promote the learning of pupils in inspirational Alternative Provision Settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
About the Role:- The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with SEMH and allows all pupils to make progress.
- Working with Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream School and have SEMH and SEND of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
- Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
- Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
- The role is based in Alternative Provision settings based in Newcastle.
- The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have SEMH and have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School.
- Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. For the right candidate, a Permanent job offer may be made.
- Start Date – ASAP.
- Location – Newcastle.
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
- QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
- An interest in supporting and Teaching pupils with SEMH.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
- Experience of Teaching within the UK.
- A genuine passion for Teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning.
