Job description

Science Teacher – SEMH:

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher to deliver Science at a Pupil Referral Unit in the M12 area. The setting supports pupils in Key Stages 3&4 with SEMH needs that have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

The Role:

  • Teaching clearly structured lessons, which engage and motivate children to meet individual needs
  • Understanding the barriers to learning faced by children with SEMH, supporting their emotional wellbeing
  • Planning and leading teaching and learning activities
  • Planning, organising and prioritising records
  • Position Details:

  • Position: SEMH Science Teacher
  • Location: Ardwick
  • Type of Work: Temp to Perm
  • Minimum Rate of Pay: £250 per day, depending on experience
  • Start date: Jan 2026
  • Experience, Training & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience delivering Science to GCSE level, in a similar setting
  • Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils, parents and staff members
  • TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
