Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate and experienced tutor to support a young learner (Year 10) currently accessing an EOTIS (Education Other Than In School) package. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about science and committed to making learning engaging and accessible.
About the Learner:
- Described as very enthusiastic, with a strong interest in science
- Keen to work towards the IGCSE Double Science Award
- Has been out of formal education for some time and requires a supportive, adaptive approach
- Previously received tutoring in a cookery school venue, with potential for home-based or online delivery
Subjects Required:

Science (IGCSE Double Award)
- Delivered by a subject specialist with experience in IGCSE curriculum
- Focus on engaging the learner through their natural curiosity and enthusiasm

English & Maths (Functional Skills)
- Functional Skills is preferred over GCSE. This learning will be gradually introduced to the learner
- Tutor should be patient, creative, and able to build confidence over time. The learner has a strong interest in Science and finds English and Maths more challenging to engage with.
As a Tutor you will:
- Provide 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner\βs individual needs.
- Be adaptive, creative and positive.
- Deliver sessions in a way that is engaging, practical, and confidence-building.
About you:
- Qualified and/or experienced in teaching IGCSE Science, Functional Skills English and Maths
- Able to tailor sessions to the learner\βs interests and emotional needs
- Flexible with delivery method β face-to-face or online (could be explored)
- Experienced wth working with learners with SEN/EHCPs
