We support young people who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Tutor, you'll provide 1:1 tuition, helping learners re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
As a Tutor, you will:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Record student progress and report on this weekly.
- Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
- Record attendance.
- Be organised, dependable and creative.
- Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you:
- Nurturing and caring nature

- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
- Organised
- Comfortable to support secondary aged pupils with English, Maths and possibly Science too or comfortable to Mentor young people.
- Have experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools - ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
