Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for experienced and committed Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Hampshire. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, this nurturing and supportive setting provides tailored education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to helping every young person develop confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to succeed both in education and beyond.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent opportunities
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate: From £105.00 per day
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs in lessons and around the school.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support.
- Help remove barriers to learning and encourage engagement.
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence.
- Support pupils' emotional, social, and academic development.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, including SEMH, is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Good English, Maths, and ICT skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Passion for making a positive difference to young people's lives.
To Be Considered, You Must:
- Have the Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply.
- Provide two professional references, preferably child-related.
