We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in RM3 from September. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Help implement individual education plans (EHCP targets) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly complex needs.
  • A patient, caring, and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A willingness to support personal care needs where necessary.
