General Teaching Assistant – Rochdale/Middleton Area
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £104+ per day
Type: Full-time, Long-term
Contract: Temporary with potential to extend
Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Location: Rochdale / Middleton Area
About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is working with several fantastic and community-focused primary schools in the Rochdale and Middleton area who are looking for an enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their team. Whether you’re experienced or looking to build on a solid foundation, this is a great opportunity to play a key part in helping children succeed, both academically and personally.
This role will involve general classroom support across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, depending on your strengths and the school’s needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
Providing small group or 1:1 support for pupils who may need additional help
Assisting with learning resources and preparing materials for lessons
Helping manage classroom behaviour and encouraging positive interactions
Supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL) where needed
Encouraging a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom
What We’re Looking For:
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or similar relevant experience)
A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to working with children
A willingness to work flexibly and take initiative
Experience supporting children in a school or educational setting (desirable)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Essential Requirements:
Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
Two professional references
Recent safeguarding training (or willingness to complete it)
