Are you passionate about supporting young people? Are you compassionate, calm and innovative? At Prospero Teaching, we are looking for dedicated and compassionate Tutors to join our growing team in Ringwood, New Forest and nearby areas starting now and going into the new academic year. We support young people who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Tutor, you'll provide 1:1 tuition, helping learners re-engage with education and achieve their potential.

As a Tutor, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.

About you:

  • Nurturing and caring nature
  • Patient, kind and understanding
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Organised
  • Comfortable to support secondary aged pupils with English, Maths and possibly Science too or comfortable to Mentor young people.
  • Have experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months educational experience
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Willingness to undertake safeguarding training (provided by Prospero)
