Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Teacher for the Resource Base

Are you a passionate and experienced teacher with a commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs?

Prospero Teaching is working with a well-resourced primary school in Birmingham that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to lead teaching and learning in their Resource Base, supporting children with complex needs, including ASD, non-verbal communication, and associated learning difficulties.

Contract Type:Long-term/ Short- term / Daily
Pay:dependent on experience
Hours:8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

About the Role:

  • Lead a small group of pupils within the school’s specialist Resource Base
  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
  • Support children with a range of SEND, including ASD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory needs
  • Use visuals, widgets, and other communication tools to support learning
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and the SENCO to deliver high-quality provision
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a specialist or base setting
  • Excellent knowledge of strategies to support non-verbal and autistic learner
  • A nurturing, creative, and adaptable approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Requirements to Work with Prospero Teaching:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Provide two child-related professional references covering the last two years
