RE Teacher – South East London
Job Title: Religious Education Teacher Secondary School
Location: Southwark, South East London
Salary: MPS/UPS (commensurate with experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
We are looking for a committed, courageous, and resilient Religious Education Teacher to join a secondary School in SE2. The school serves a diverse and vibrant community, but they face real challenges particularly around behaviour, consistency, and engagement.
This isnt a post for the faint-hearted its for someone who sees potential where others see problems. You’ll be teaching RE across KS3 and KS4, helping students explore belief, morality, and meaning in a way thats engaging, respectful, and relevant to their lives.
About You
You will need to be:
A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a specialism or strong background in Religious Education.
Skilled in behaviour management and confident in maintaining authority while building positive relationships.
Someone who thrives in tough environments, but never lowers expectations.
Passionate about giving students access to the ethical, cultural, and philosophical tools they need to make sense of the world.
Committed to teamwork, resilience, and restorative approaches to discipline.
London weighting and access to transport links (Abbey Wood station Elizabeth Line, Southeastern Rail).
