- Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm (Term Time Only)
About the Role
As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across your specialist subject area or provide general cover where required. Opportunities are available in a variety of mainstream secondary schools, with both pre-booked and emergency cover available. This role is ideal for experienced teachers, ECTs, or teachers looking for greater flexibility whilst remaining in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Follow school policies and procedures to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress where required
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and wider school communities
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential
- Experience teaching within a UK secondary school setting
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Up-to-date safeguarding training is desirable. If you have not completed safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide a free course
To Be Eligible for Any Role with Prospero Teaching, You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
