ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Reception Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted outstanding rated Primary school in Roehampton, Wandsworth. The school is a popular two-form entry mainstream Primary School. The school has a highly supportive leadership team and offers ongoing training for all staff. This role is open to experienced EYFS Teaching Assistants, with the potential for the contract to be extended or made permanent based on performance.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Roehampton, Wandsworth
  • Position: Reception Teaching Assistant
  • Type of work: Supporting the class teacher, assisting with learning activities, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping with general classroom duties.
  • Start date: Immediately
  • End date: July 2026 (with a view to extend to the end of academic year 2026/27)
  • Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm): Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay: Minimum rate GBP90‑110 per day (DOE)
  • Hours: 8:30am‑4:00pm Mon‑Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting children in an Early Years or UK primary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development
  • Confident supporting learning through play, phonics, early literacy and numeracy
  • Effective behaviour management tailored to younger children
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or EAL, including providing differentiated support
  • Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training issued within the last 12 months

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
