Pay Rate: GBP 30-35 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Type: Temporary Part-Time, 20 hours per week

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced QTS Tutor to provide one-to-one support for students across Rochdale. This role is ideal for qualified teachers who are passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their academic potential in a personalised learning environment.

The successful candidate must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience delivering tailored lessons in core subjects such as Maths, English, or Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated one-to-one tuition sessions.
  • Support students with SEN including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual academic abilities and learning styles.
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and progress.
  • Monitor student development and provide regular feedback on progress.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects including Maths and English.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience delivering GCSE or Functional Skills tuition.
  • Previous experience in alternative provision, SEN schools, or one-to-one tutoring.
  • Knowledge of differentiated teaching and trauma-informed approaches.
