Secondary Tutor
Support Secondary-Aged Learners Through Personalised Education
We're looking for Secondary Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 support to children and young people across West Sussex.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support secondary-aged learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from personalised support that helps increase confidence, improve engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes.
We're particularly keen to hear from tutors based in or around:
- Crawley
- Worthing
- Horsham
- Chichester
- Bognor Regis
- Littlehampton
Location: West Sussex
Key Stage: Secondary (KS3 & KS4)
Start Date: September
Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition
Every placement is unique, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through personalised, one-to-one support.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
- Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
- Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex
