Prospero Teaching is working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Dukinfield, which deals with students with additional needs and mental health issues. It is a classroom-based role, providing mentoring and pastoral support to the students aged 11-16 years old (KS3/4) who have EHCP plans and additional needs. The pupils have usually experienced some form of trauma, neglect, or chaotic home life.
Your role is to build a connection with the young people and act as a mentor and role model. You must have a strong TA or tutoring background with students from PRUs or SEMH schools, and you also need to drive and have access to your own car for this role. Due to the barriers the pupils face in the classroom, the role will entail forging strong relationships with them.
The position is open to all experienced candidates and those with a strong background in mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school may consider extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

- Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
