PRIMARY TEACHER (SEN)

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a qualified Primary Teacher with SEN experience to join a specialist Secondary School located on the edge of the stunningglomerates New Forest National Park, starting in January 26\’.

The school supports pupils aged 11‑16, offering a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment for students with a wide range of special educational needs. These include Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), social, communication and sensory needs, specific and moderate learning difficulties, and mental health challenges.

The school provides a well‑resourced, supportive, and highly inclusive environment. Staff are trained in trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware practices, and the curriculum is tailored to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of every student. Pupils are taught in smaller groups with strong support from experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), enabling individualised teaching and relationship‑building at the heart of learning.

The successful teacher will be responsible for delivering a primary‑style curriculum, adapted for a secondary‑age cohort, across a range of subjects particularly English, Maths and topic‑based learning. A calm, creative and flexible approach is essential, along with a passion for working with young people with complex needs.

  • Position: Primary Teacher (with SEN experience)
  • Type of work: SEN Secondary School (delivering a Primary‑style curriculum)

  • Duration / Likely Duration: Temp‑to‑Perm
  • Contract type: Long‑term (Permanent potential)
  • Full time/part time: Full‑Time
  • Minimum daily rate: From GBP168.29 per day
  • Working hours: 8:30 am 4:00 lomer, plus parents evenings

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS / PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in UK Primary Schools (KS1 or KS2)
  • SEN or alternative provision experience highly desirable
  • Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • Provide two professional child‑related references
